About ABUK
The first question on any supplier approval form is “are you a factory or a middleman”, because it decides who controls lead time, who owns the tooling and who you chase when something goes wrong. Our answer is both — and below we say which part is which.
ABUK is the Africa-facing brand of a Chinese electrical exporter established in 2008. The company has exported from its first day and now ships to more than 60 countries. Production runs on two legs: we tool and manufacture the core lines ourselves, and long-standing partner factories produce accessory and peripheral lines to our drawings and standards — with incoming inspection, final inspection and container loading all done by us.
We say it this way for a simple reason. Claim only the factory and you would assume every item comes off one line. Claim only the trading house and you would assume lead time and tooling are out of our hands. Say both, and you know which drawing to bring to whom.
Our customers are concentrated in West Africa — importing wholesalers in Nigeria and Ghana. On their shelves, earthing and lightning protection is one whole bay: air rods, down conductors, tape, clamps, earth rods, inspection pits. Filling that bay from one supplier costs less than assembling it from five — and costs far less when something goes wrong.
So earthing is the range we lead with, and the distribution and accessory lines exist to go with it. Not the other way round.
